Director of Pharmacy/ PIC
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Pharmacist/Pharmacist in Charge to lead our pharmacy team with energy and dedication. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily pharmacy operations, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess a background in clinical pharmacy, hospital or LTC (Long-Term Care) settings. Your proactive approach will drive efficiency, foster a patient-centered environment, and uphold the highest standards of pharmacy practice.
Responsibilities
Lead the pharmacy team in providing comprehensive medication dispensing, patient counseling, and clinical services with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Oversee medication inventory management, IV infusions, and aseptic techniques to ensure safety and accuracy.
Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy, including pediatrics, pain management, and critical care cases.
Utilize pharmacy software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to document patient interactions and medication records accurately.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information at all times.
Manage pharmacy operations efficiently, including medication procurement, inventory control, and staff scheduling to optimize workflow.
Collaborate with medical teams on medication management plans, medical terminology interpretation, physiology knowledge, and anatomy to support holistic patient care.
Support pharmacy technicians in their roles while fostering a team environment focused on excellent patient service.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hospital pharmacy practices, acute care protocols, and medical management strategies to enhance service quality.
Experience
Experience in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings with a strong background in clinical pharmacy practice is preferred.
Prior pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical training is highly preferred.
Hands-on experience with pharmacy software systems, EMR/EHR platforms, inventory management tools, and compounding medications.
Previous leadership roles such as Pharmacist in Charge or supervisory positions are advantageous.
